Key Programming via OBD

General Instructions

  • Toyota’s master key system distinguishes between master keys and valet (sub) keys in the vehicle’s immobilizer and key programming system. Master keys are required when adding or programming new keys with normal OBD procedure.
  • Master Keys (P1): B2, 32, 35. Valet keys (P1): D2, 92.
  • With all keys lost, programming requires reseting immobilizer system (tested with Abrites ok). If you cannot reset system, programming must be done via eeprom.

Eeprom reading (Out-circuit)
Eeprom reading (Out-circuit)

Use EEPROM adapters for reading; most programmers can handle the readout.

Eeprom reading (In-circuit)
Eeprom reading (In-circuit)

Use a solder-free EEPROM adapter from Autel, Xhorse or any other brand - all of them can handle the reading. If the readout fails, it means the contact is poor - go over each pin with a soldering iron and try again.
