Key Programming via OBD
General Instructions
- When programming a new key in the key slot, don't push the key all the way in, so it doesn't get stuck.
- When programming proximity key (remote) pressing the start button is only necessary to "wake up vehicle" the ignition does not have to be on, you could also switch on hazard lights to do this.
- In the event of the vehicle shutting down and keys not working once programmed, disconnect negative battery terminal for around 5-10 minutes then reconnect battery.
- PROX functions are disabled when the key is placed in the emergency transponder (SCU) reader
- If the emergency start (from slot) doesn't work with new key after programming - contact technical support for the solution.

Decoding Tips
- There will never be more than 2 height differences between wafers next to each other.
- Picking this lock requires a very light turning tension.
- No keys contain a depth #1 in the first position.
- All keys contain a depth #2 in the last position.
- There are only five possible cut combinations for the last three positions: 132 (28%), 532 (22%), 312 (20%), 232 (16%), 422 (14%)
- Lishi 2-in-1 decoder for 10 cuts works also for 8 cut locks.
- To decode the lock, read in the SAME direction as it was picked.

A common issue with battery holder
A common issue or weak point with these keys is the battery holder coming loose from its solder joint. This affects both original keys and even some new aftermarket ones. The solution is to reinforce or re-solder the connection.
